Administrative correspondence, 1983-1986.

This series contains correspondence, memoranda, reports, and minutes of meetings. The records document the activities and programs of the Archives and Records Division from 1983 to 1986. These programs include the NEH newspaper grant, micrographics, appraisal and scheduling of state and local government records, and arrangement and description of in-house records and collections. Planning documentation regarding the division's missions and goals, the notes and conclusions of outside consultants such as David Bearman, and the division's monthly reports are also included. Much of the correspondence and memos are to and from the division's director, Richard Cox.
